Stan The Hot Water Man

Great company, I have used them before and recommended them to three of my neighbors. When my water heater failed recently, I called and was scheduled within 30 minutes. The tech, when he arrived, was in a fully equipped service van (no part chasing). The issue was diagnosed within 10 min, and the repair was made quickly. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional; the labor and parts charges were fair. Nobody wants a cold water heater, but the excellent repair experience with Stan The Hot Water Man will make it easier to accept.

We wanted to preemptively replace our hot water heater before it went out, and had the opportunity to take our time and call around for quotes. For our lowboy water electric water heater, we were quoted all over the map- the highest was over $3000. I am so happy to report that the google reviews for Stan the Hot Water Man are right-- their pricing was beyond fair, they were easy to communicate with, and they showed up and we had a new water heater in about 3 hours. They were so efficient, knowledgeable, and didn't try to up-sell us on anything. We're going to use them for yearly maintenance of the unit going forward, because I know I won't need a new hot water heater for a while!

UPDATE: Andrew from Stan The Hot Water Man reached out to me and offered to apply the full amount of the service fee to the repair. He was courteous, helpful, and apologetic for the trouble I had with the service fee not applying to the repair. I'm happy with how responsive Andrew was to my complaint, and can now recommend this company without reservations! (It's 4 stars and not 5 just due to the hassle I had to go through to get the full fee applied.) Original review: Buyer beware: only half of your service fee (which is $169 currently) will be applied to your repair. In my communication via text with the company prior to the repair, I was told that the $169 service fee to provide an estimate would apply to the repair if I decided to go ahead with it. It turns out, only half of it ($84) is applied, the other $85 is an extra cost for you. Even though I sent a screenshot later showing this was not mentioned in our written correspondance, they would not make the adjustment. Other than that, I'm satisfied with the work that was done to replace our water heater.

I could not be happier with Jesse and the service he provided installing a new 50 gal water heater. He was careful with all of the details and cleaned up every little drop of spilled water or dust that came with the install. We are now believers in Stan the Hot Water Man and especially Jesse who works for them. He was very good at communicating all along the way as we discussed the new water heater. Excellent service and best price in PDX. My gas hot water heater (original to the home, so it was probably on its last legs) finally went out in winter, so I shopped around with the local companies specializing in hot water heater repair and replacement. Stan The Hot Water Man was significantly cheaper than the other companies. Their service was also great and the technicians communicated quickly and professionally. 5/5 stars and would hire again.

We could not have had a better experience with Scott - he is the contractor every homeowner hopes they will get when they bid out a job. Knowledgeable and personable, and he did such an outstanding job with our tank-to-tankless water heater install and new gas line that the city inspector called it "fantastic," and "commercial quality, rare to see in a residential install." The install was done on a Wednesday, and on Thursday the inspector signed off and Scott turned on the gas, so only 24 hours without hot water. He made sure all our other gas appliances were functional after the gas was turned back on, cleaned up all the debris, and even painted the new exterior gas line to prevent rust.

Daren came out shortly after I called about having no hot water. He was able to diagnose the issue and fixed it fast!!! Our system isn't the easiest but Daren handled it with zero issues. Thanks so very much!!! We will call "Stan the hit water man" without hesitation. Trust worthy, reasonably priced, and and professional.
